Outside, spring winds shift remnants of an ancient inland sea. Within, each gust stories the sinuous rill and rifts of the window sill. Held to ear, water heater flue roars remembrance of curled crests, foamed crashings, splayed insistence crowding coasts. The weightless and unattached rush with tumbleweeds undermining footholds all the way back to the beginning. The door blows open.
